17 – Jean Pierre Kilenda, Avocat pour Matthieu NgodjoloInteractive Radio for Justice organised a Public Meeting in Bunia where Citizens posed questions to ICC Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo and Chief Counsel for Thomas Lubanga, Catherine Mabille.
On 11 July Interactive Radio for Justice organised a public meeting for citizens to pose their questions directly to ICC Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo and Chief Counsel for the Defense of Thomas Lubanga, Catherine Mabille, in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo.
IRfJ organised transport for citizens from the towns of Katoni and Lopa, and the principalities south of Bunia of Bokoko, Lumuba, Kindia and Yambi , to participate in the event in the center of Bunia. Approximately 500 people filled the hall as well as seats arranged under a tent outside the hall where loudspeakers were placed . The discussion, which lasted two and a half hours, was recorded by IRfJ and this material will be featured in future programs in our ‘On the Track of Justice Series’, which is broadcast on community radio throughout the Ituri District of the DRC in French, Swahili and Lingala languages.
The goal of the public meeting falls in line with the goal of IRfJ – to give communities targeted by international criminal investigations as direct access as possible to authorities who are responsibile to bring justice to these communities.

It underlines that the Public Meeting is open to all, but specifically designed for the common citizen to have a dialogue with these authorities from the International Criminal Court.

Le 11 juillet, Radio Interactive Pour La Justice a organisé une réunion publique pour que les citoyens posent des questions directement au Procureur de la CPI Luis Moreno Ocampo et à l’avocate de Thomas Lubanga, Catherine Mabille, à Bunia, en République démocratique du Congo. RIpJ a organisé le transport des citoyens des villes de Katoni et Lopa, et celles situées au sud de Bunia; Bokoko, Lumuba, Kindia et Yambi, afin d’assurer leur participation à l’évènement au centre de Bunia. Environ 500 personnes ont participé, assis dans la salle et sur des sièges placés sous une tente a l’extérieur de la salle, où des haut-parleurs ont était placé.
La discussion, qui a duré 2 heures et demi et a été enregistrée par RIpJ sera présentée dans nos prochains programmes de la série ‘Sur La Trace de la Justice’, qui est diffusée sur la radio communautaire dans toute la région d’Ituri en RDC en français, swahili et lingala.
